A (youth) goalkeeper goes through a number of different phases

The goalkeeper trainer will have to analyze his goalkeeper well and customize his Goalkeeper training drills to that.
Important factors to consider in GK Training drills are

  • GK Training drills difficulty level
  • How talented is your goalkeeper
  • How big is the drive to learn?
  • How many hours are available for training?

So it is important for goalkeeper trainers to consider these factors when preparing the Goalkeeper Training.

On www.keepertrainer.com all goalkeeper exercises are categorized by level A, B or C.
While searching for suitable exercises you can ( among others) check the level.

By using the filters on the website you can easily find the right GK Training exercises for your goalkeepers.

Anyone can prepare and give a Goalkeeper Training!

Goalkeeper training is not well organized at many clubs.
Sometimes there is a shortage of available people or there is insufficient knowledge.
It is frustrating when the development of a goalkeeper stagnates because of this.

I do understand that it is difficult for many clubs to find capable people. Maybe they are there but don't have a goalkeeping background or don't know what or how to do it.
A particular pity because it is really fantastic to see how goalkeepers go through a development to which you have contributed.
This is exactly why I want to share my knowledge and experience through targeted goalkeeping exercises, complete training sessions, videos and animations.
This enables anyone with a soccer background or a little affinity with goalkeeping can give GK Training with the help of www.keeperstrainer.com.

Simply put together a fun and specific Goalkeeper Training or use a complete training (with or without a theme) from the website.
Of course this digital learning environment also offers enough space for your own input.
The trainer decides what he trains!

What is the source of the GK Training exercises on Keeperstrainer.com

As a goalkeeper in the Dutch professional league my career came to an end at the age of 43.
During those 20 years of professional soccer I have of course completed a lot of Goalkeeper Trainings and I have seen a lot of goalkeeper trainers.

After my career as a goalkeeper, the passion for soccer and goalkeeping in particular has remained.
For many years I have been active with my own goalkeeper school. I also trained senior goalkeepers in the Dutch professional league. Followed by 3 years Feyenoord Youth Academy where I trained goalkeepers from under 12 to under 19.
During that last period I have graduated for the highest goalkeeper trainer diploma in our country, the KNVB Goalkeeper Coach Uefa A.

As a goalkeeper trainer in the Dutch National League but also with the Feyenoord youth, I started to write down the exercises I did with the goalkeepers.
Just a drawing and a short description of the exercises and the date on which I practiced them. This made it easy for me to see when and what skill we had trained and if necessary, I could use the training again later.
Variation in GK Training drills is important but repeating goalie drills is just as important to a goalie's development.

In time, however, the handwritten "database" became so large that I no longer wanted to keep it just for my own training sessions. I decided to share it with other Goalkeeper Trainers.
A few moments later, www.keeperstrainer.com was born.
