C1.3 Attaching the ball

Exercise

C1.3

Attacking the ball. 2 goalkeepers

Exercise

The trainer throws the ball several times to the body of K1. K1 catches the ball and throws it back (underhand) into the trainer's hands each time. The trainer throws (or passes) the ball (unexpectedly) between K1 and K2 several times. K1 must make the choice, either go straight for the ball (attacking) or stay in position and go 1 vs. 1 with K2 (K2 may only dribble past K1 to score).
Attention! ... K2 doesn't make a slidings! (to prevent injuries). Left and right side.
Number of repetitions: K1 and K2 take turns, both 5 times. After the trainer's ball, walk calmly to the starting point and start again. Each time after 5 repetitions switch sides and then apply a variation.

Variations

  • The trainer kicks or rolls a ball over the ground to the left of K1. K1 dives, handles the ball and rolls it back into the trainer's feet. After one or two passes, the trainer passes the ball (unexpectedly), over the ground, between K1 and K2. K1 has to make the choice, go straight for the ball (attacking) or wait and go 1 against 1 with K2.
  • Same as above but then the trainer kicks (or rolls) the ball to the right low of K1.
  • The trainer throws a ball half high to the left of K1. K1 dives, handles the ball and rolls it back into the trainer's feet. After one or two throws the ball (unexpectedly) between K1 and K2. K1 has to make the choice, go straight for the ball (attacking) or wait and go 1 against 1 with K2.
  • Same as above but then the trainer throws the ball half high on the right.
  • Blocks. Pay attention...! Blocking the ball increases the risk of injury. So only apply this variation if you think your goalkeepers can handle it.
  • The trainer throws the ball several times to the body of K1. K1 catches the ball and always throws it back (underhand) into the trainer's hands. After a number of passes, the trainer throws (or passes) the ball calmly (unexpectedly) towards K2. K2, with inside foot, tries to score at once (without receiving) and K1 puts a block to prevent this.

Attention Points

  1. K2 be attentive, for the trainer's ball (be ready to get to the ball before K1).
  2. K1 Quickly decide whether to intercept the ball at once or wait
  3. If K1 goes for ball at once, hands forward and "attack the ball"!
  4. K1 as close as possible to the ball and hands low with the 1 vs 1.
  5. K2 has 5 seconds to score from the moment K2 gets to the ball. Trainer counts out loud!
